About Us

Yalad:
A primitive root; to bear young; causatively, to beget; medically, to act as midwife; specifically, to show lineage -- bear, beget, birth((-day)), born, (make to) bring forth (children, young), bring up, calve, child, come, be delivered (of a child), time of delivery, gender, hatch, labour, (do the office of a) midwife, declare pedigrees, be the son of, (woman in, woman that) travail(-eth, -ing woman).

Our logo is the ancient egyptian hieroglyph meaning "birth".  Shown is a woman squatting upon stones to give birth.  This was one of the traditional birthing position used by the egyptians.  Egyptian writings and wall paintings suggest that delivery was performed in the squatting position, with the woman supporting her arms on her knees, and sitting on two stones.  The stones were traditionally 14 by 7 inches long and decorated with colorful scenes and figures of the birthing process.
